Human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, has raised alarm over the deteriorating security situation in Nigeria, revealing that a single bandit massacred over 20 people in Kwara State using a Russian weapon.
Speaking in a live coverage by TV Platinum, Sowore said insecurity has reached an unprecedented level where one armed person can wipe out an entire village and nothing will be done about it.
He said he watched a video of the Kwara State massacre that broke his heart, noting that the victims included the village leader known as the Baale. According to Sowore, a friend informed him that the mass killing was carried out with a Russian weapon capable of killing 20 people at once if they are well targeted.
Sowore stated that such deadly weapons are now in the hands of terrorists, bandits, and kidnappers across the country, yet the government is doing nothing about it.
In Sowore’s words: “I saw a video that broke my heart. Every day, every insecurity video breaks my heart. But yesterday was particularly different in Kwara State when a whole village had over 20 people, including the village leader known as the Baale, just mowed down. And one of my friends was telling me that that was done with a Russian weapon. Yes, this weapon could kill 20 people if 20 people are well targeted by it, just one. And all of these are in the hands of terrorists, bandits, and kidnappers in this country. Nobody’s doing anything about it.”
