2027 presidency: I’m not desperate – Atiku Abubakar

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has said that he is not desperate to become Nigeria’s president.

He said on Saturday in response to critics who feel he should give way for younger people.

The 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, said the most important mission for him is to rescue the country from the current administration.

Atiku, a two-time presidential candidate of the PDP has been accused of being desperate in his presidential ambition.

Atiku, who was the quest speaker at a ceremony organised to welcome some leaders of the PDP and Labour Party to the ADC in Lagos State on Saturday, said he is not desperate to lead Nigeria.

Represented by Prof. Ola Olateju, the Adamawa born politician said he plans to build a better country Nigerians everywhere could be proud of.

“It’s not about Atiku having to be president at all costs,” he said.

According to him, the African Democratic Congress should not been regarded as a political party but is a movement through which Nigerians have decided to change bad governance

The movement, according to him, is aimed at repositioning the country and taking it to great heights.
