The Kano State Police Command has arrested 10 persons suspected of receiving stolen motorcycles and recovered seven stolen bikes as part of its ongoing crackdown on motorcycle theft across the state.
The development followed the arrest of notorious motorcycle thief Dahiru Jibrin on August 11, 2025, after which further investigations by the Anti-Cyber Crime Unit of the Criminal Investigation Department led to the recovery of the stolen motorcycles.
Confirming the breakthrough in a statement released on Thursday, the command’s spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said the recovered motorcycles have since been returned to their rightful owners.
The statement added, “We urge members of the public to continue supporting the Police by providing timely information and cooperating in efforts to maintain peace and security across the state.”
The command reiterated its commitment to intensifying operations to bring perpetrators of crime to justice and prevent future cases of motorcycle theft.
