Police intercept vehicle loaded with cannabis, others in Lagos

Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have intercepted a vehicle loaded with cannabis sativa and other prohibited items in the Ojo area of the state.

Command spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed in a statement on Friday that officers attached to Ojo Division stopped an ash-coloured Toyota Sienna during a routine operation.

He explained that the driver fled the scene with the vehicle’s key after being asked to provide identification and vehicle documents, abandoning the car.

A search of the vehicle uncovered two bags of suspected cannabis, an Army jungle hat, and two ATM cards. The exhibits and vehicle were later transferred to Special Squad 2 at the Command Headquarters, Ikeja, for further investigation.

Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, praised the operatives’ vigilance and assured residents that efforts are ongoing to track down the fleeing suspect.
