2027: Nothing is wrong with solidarity walk for Tinubu, Omo-Agege – Delta APC leader to IPAC

A leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Delta State, Hon. Chuks Erhire, has told the leadership of the Inter-Party Advisory Committee, IPAC, in the state that there is nothing wrong with their Solidarity Walk in Kwale for President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Ovie Omo-Agege’s 2027 political ambitions.

IPAC leaders in the state recently, in their statement, condemned the Solidarity Walk.

Erhire, while saying he watched with consternation the reactions by IPAC, maintained that it is a shame that IPAC leaders do not understand that people have the constitutional authority, or that the constitution expressly gives individuals and groups the right to express themselves freely, to congregate, to associate, and to freedom of movement in Nigeria.

Reacting to the press conference and reactions of members or leaders of IPAC to the Solidarity Walk, he called for proper schooling of politicians on the fundamentals of the constitution as it relates to public gatherings, freedom of expression, and freedom of speech.

According to him, “If IPAC thinks that there is anything wrong with us showing solidarity to great performers, then I think that these people that call themselves IPAC do not understand the mandate of IPAC. They also do not mean well for Delta State because I insist that only the best is good enough for Delta State.

“There is nothing wrong with us showing solidarity with performers; with people coming out to say that hitherto Ndokwa nation was in the dark and consigned to the dark side of history until Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, though elected as Senator to represent Delta Central, stepped into Ndokwa nation and took them from gross darkness to a global limelight by influencing the establishment of the Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences in Kwale.

“What is wrong with the Ndokwa people, drawn from the Ndokwa and Ukwuani Federal Constituency, and people of like minds being people with good conscience, coming together to say thank you to Mr. President and Senator Ovie Omo-Agege over what they consider as a monumental feat in their land?

“Painfully, enemies of the state have lost sleep because Ndokwa people thought that it was important to say thank you and to reward the work Senator Ovie Omo-Agege did in influencing that university to Kwale, and for all the monumental projects that he established across the three local governments that make up Ndokwa and Ukwuani Federal Constituency.

“They thought that they should come together to say thank you to Mr. President and thank you to Senator Ovie Omo-Agege and that the best way to pay them back is to assure them that in 2027, they will give Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu 100 per cent votes and that they will also support Senator Ovie’s aspiration to come and rescue Delta State as the Governor of Delta State.

“Delta people can no longer take this state of arrested development in Delta State. We need a Governor that can differentiate between projects and programs. A Governor that understands the three fundamentals of projects: scope, price, and time. A Governor that will not sleep in a project for eternity while the people are suffering.

“We need a Governor who knows and understands that for you to be able to run a system effectively, there is a place for goals, objectives, strategy, planning, and then action plan and proper execution; that is what we need.

“And we know that Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has all of this, and that is why we are advocating, and we stand by our position, that Senator Ovie Omo-Agege is the best material for the governorship race in Delta State in 2027.

“The resources in Delta State are more than enough for us to live like executive citizens. Nobody in Delta State is supposed to be living in squalor. We have all the resources we need to achieve the above.

“Delta State receives the highest revenue from the Federation Account. We also receive the highest revenue from the 13 per cent derivation and IGR in Nigeria, but what we have in Delta State is a clear manifestation of poor leadership,” Erhire lambasted.
