According to The Guardian, the case was reported to the police on August 28, 2025, after the victim — a 300-level student whose identity has been withheld — filed a formal complaint.

She alleged that on August 22, 2025, around 12 p.m., she was summoned to Dr. Ojogbo’s office, where he allegedly forcefully slept with her. The student was later taken to a nearby hospital for medical care.

University, Police React

UNILAG authorities confirmed awareness of the case and disclosed that law enforcement agencies were already handling the matter. The institution also revealed that its Safeguarding Centre was offering psychological and emotional support to the victim.

The Head of UNILAG’s Communication Unit, Adejoke Alaga-Ibraheem, announced that a panel of inquiry had been constituted to investigate the allegation. She assured the public that the university maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy on sexual misconduct.

> “The university is committed to ensuring justice for all parties involved. Findings of the panel will be made public through official channels once investigations are concluded,” Alaga-Ibraheem said.

She further urged students and staff to promptly report any form of harassment through UNILAG’s designated complaint platforms.
