The Executive Chairman of the Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB), Dr. Kassim Muhammad Kassim, has inaugurated a special committee to investigate and correct cases of nepotism and improper placement among teachers and administrative staff in the state’s primary school system.
Dr. Kassim said the move became necessary following reports that some junior staff were being placed above their seniors due to personal connections, favoritism, or undue influence, undermining merit-based promotions and proper career progression.
He stressed that the board would no longer tolerate preferential treatment based on religion, ethnicity, or political ties, warning that any placement or promotion must strictly follow laid-down service rules and qualifications.
The committee, chaired by Sir Attah Allahnana, a permanent board member representing Nasarawa North, has been tasked with receiving petitions and verifying complaints of wrongful placement, nepotism, or promotion disputes.
“All affected teachers or administrative staff with credible evidence of improper placement or favoritism are encouraged to present their cases to the committee for review,” Dr. Kassim said.
