Troops recover weapon, ammunition in Plateau State

Troops of 3 Division and Joint Task Force Operation Enduring Peace, JTF OPEP, conducted an intelligence-based operation at Manja, along the fringes of Mangu and Bokkos local government areas of Plateau State, on September 24, 2025.

During the operation, troops made contact with elements of armed bandits, who withdrew in disarray due to the superior firepower of the troops. Furthermore, the troops exploited the general area and recovered rifle, ammunition, and two mobile phones abandoned by the criminals.

In a statement, Major Samson Nantip Zhakom, Media Information Officer, JTF Operation Enduring Peace, said the recovered weapon and ammunition are in custody for further action.

Meanwhile, efforts are ongoing to intercept and neutralise the fleeing criminals.

According to him, troops’ operational alertness and readiness remain the bedrock of these achievements, and these fundamentals will continue to support operations to secure the JTF OPEP joint operations area and bring perpetrators of heinous crimes to justice.
