Chelsea star, Raheem Sterling turned down the opportunity to join Champions League club Bayern Munich in the closing stages of the summer transfer window.
Sterling spent last season on loan at Chelsea’s Premier League London rivals Arsenal.
The England winger has been left out of Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca’s squad since the summer.
The former Liverpool player has been training separately from Chelsea’s first team.
However, according to The Athletic, the 30-year-old was offered a late chance to join Bayern Munich after the Bundesliga champions enquired about him during their negotiations to sign Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson on loan.
But the report added that Sterling rejected Bayern Munich’s approach as he was hesitant to relocate his family to Germany or be away from them for an extended period.
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany had said last week that his bond with Sterling will ‘always remain’.
The duo were former teammates at Manchester City for four years and won six major trophies, including the Premier League during their time at the Etihad Stadium.
