Kwara United apologise for CAF Confederation Cup ouster

Kwara United have apologised to their fans following the team’s early ouster from the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Harmony Boys lost 1-0 to Ghana’s Asante Kotoko in the second leg of their preliminary round tie at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena, Abeokuta on Sunday.

Hubert Gyalu scored the decisive goal for the Porcupine Warriors in the 53rd minute.

Tunde Sanni’s side exited the competition 5-3 on aggregate.

Chairman of the club, Kumbi Titiloye described the early exit as painful and regrettable.

“We apologize to our teeming and loyal fans and supporters for this unfortunate result. It was never our plan to crash out at this early stage,” Titiloye told the club’s media.

Kwara United will now shift their attention to the domestic campaign.
