Somtochukwu Maduagwu: Police condole with Arise TV family over death of presenter

The Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory, FCT Police Command, CP Ajao S. Adewale, has extended his condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Ms. Somtochukwu Christelle Maduagwu, a news anchor and producer with Arise News Television.

DAILY POST recalls that the TV presenter tragically lost her life on Monday during an armed robbery incident at her residence in the Katampe area of Abuja.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, the CP described the incident as a “cruel and senseless act that has no place in a sane society.”

The CP assured that the command remains fully committed to ensuring that justice is served.

According to the statement, the Commissioner of Police has already ordered a discreet and comprehensive investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident.

He further directed the deployment of intelligence and operational assets to identify and track down the suspects responsible for this heinous crime.

He urged residents of the nation’s capital to support the ongoing investigations by providing timely and useful information to the police.

The CP also charged all FCT residents to always ensure that they raise prompt alarm in every suspicious situation in a bid to eliminate “criminal elements in our society.”
