The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike on Wednesday reiterated that the capital city would be a different place before the end of President Bola Tinubu’s tenure.
Wike declared that with the road networks and provision of other basic amenities, the FCT will compete with other cities of the world before the end of Tinubu’s tenure.
He spoke during the flagging off ceremony of the construction of Access Arterial Road S1 from Ring Road 2 to FCT Fire Service Station in Kaura District with a 3 Span bridge.
According to Wike: “I’ve said before, it is the hope of the Renewed Agenda that before the first tenure of Mr. President ends, Abuja will be a different place. Abuja will compete with other cities of the world.”
The Minister also commended security agencies and the area council Chairmen for their support in ensuring Abuja becomes safe.
“Let me commend the security agencies for the job they are doing for us to stay safely in FCT. I commend the Area Council Chairman who has been giving us all the necessary support,” he said.
Wike further identified Kwali, Kuje, AMAC, Bwari, and Gwagwalada area councils as being the “greater beneficiaries of all these things we are doing.”
“The only people that have not benefited so much as they have benefited is Abaji, but they are going to be better. He who thinks last, thinks the best,” he added.
