UCL: Osimhen makes history after scoring against Liverpool

Galatasaray striker, Victor Osimhen on Tuesday made history after scoring a goal in his side’s 1-0 win against Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League.

Osimhen scored a penalty in the first half against Arne Slot’s side at Rams Park to give Galatasaray the victory against the visitors.

His goal against the Premier League champions made him the first Nigerian player to reach double figures in the history of the competition.

Before the encounter, Osimhen had nine goals, level with former Inter Milan attacker Obafemi Martins.

Osimhen’s latest goal against the Reds brings his total to 10, solidifying his position as Nigeria’s top scorer in the Champions League.

The 26-year-old is ahead of the likes of Victor Ikpeba (7 goals), Ahmed Musa (6 goals), Nwankwo Kanu (5 goals), Yakubu Aiyegbeni (5 goals), Ademola Lookman (5 goals), and Samuel Chukwueze (4 goals).

Osimhen scored the 10 Champions League goals for three different clubs — Lille (2 goals), Napoli (7 goals), and Galatasaray (1 goal) across 18 Champions League appearances.
