The All Progressives Congress, APC, on Tuesday released the official timetable and schedule of activities for the 2026 governorship election in Osun State, outlining key dates for nomination, screening, delegate congresses, and the primary election.
The timetable, signed by the National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, and issued from the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, revealed that the process will formally begin with a notice of election to the state chapter on Friday, October 3, 2025. This will be followed by an update of the membership register across the state between Monday, October 20, and Friday, October 31, 2025.
According to the statement, only members whose names appear in the register and who have been financially up to date with their dues for at least one year up to February 2025 will be eligible to participate in the exercise, either as voters or aspirants.
The party disclosed that the sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms will open on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, while the deadline for submission of completed forms, supporting documents, and delegate forms is set for Monday, December 1, 2025.
To encourage inclusivity, the APC announced special concessions for women, youths, and persons with disabilities, PWDs. Female aspirants and PWDs are required to purchase only the Expression of Interest Form, as the Nomination Form will be issued free of charge.
Youth aspirants between the ages of 25 and 40 will also benefit from a 50 percent discount on the Nomination Form.
The fee structure for the Osun governorship contest was also disclosed:
Expression of Interest Form: N10 million
Nomination Form: N40 million
Total (Governorship Forms): N50 million
Delegate Form: N5,000
The statement clarified that the Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms will be available for purchase at the APC Directorate of Organization, 2nd Floor, National Headquarters, No. 40 Blantyre Street, Wuse II, Abuja.
On the process of electing delegates, the party emphasized that only financial members with at least three months of active membership before the congress will be eligible to participate, with a subscription rate of 200 per month.
Other activities on the timetable include the screening of aspirants, publication of results, appeal hearings, and the conduct of the governorship primary election. The timetable also makes provision for a congress to ratify the result of the primary in line with the 2022 Electoral Act (as amended).
