Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has congratulated Nigerians on the country’s 65th Independence anniversary, calling for unity and renewed commitment to national development.

In a statement on Wednesday, Idris described Nigeria’s diversity as a source of strength and urged citizens to set aside differences in the collective effort to ensure peace, security and progress.

He acknowledged the contributions of the country’s founding fathers to nation-building while noting that challenges still persist.

The governor said his administration would continue to prioritise education, agriculture, healthcare, infrastructure and economic empowerment to improve the living standards of people in the state.

He called on Nigerians to embrace patriotism, selflessness and prayers for purposeful leadership at all levels, stressing the need for cooperation between citizens and government to move the country forward.
