We should not just pray, leaders must fulfill promises  – Bauchi Speaker

As Nigeria marks 65 years of independence, the Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y. Suleiman (Ɗangaladiman Ningi), has urged citizens to live responsibly and avoid acts that threaten the country’s peace and progress.

He also said while Nigerians should pray for the country, leaders should ensure they deliver on their promises to the people.
In a statement signed by his spokesperson, Mukhtar Garba Kobi, on Wednesday, the Speaker stressed that Nigerians must serve as good ambassadors of their families, communities, and states by shunning unethical behavior.

“Our beloved Nigeria has been a shining light in Africa upon which many countries look forward to. Nigeria’s 65 years of independence were marked with transformations but still more need to be done on security and economy in order to make the country favorable for investors. The citizens’ major role should be to desist from all unethical conducts and serve as good ambassadors of their respective families, communities and states,” he said.

The Speaker also called for fervent prayers for leaders at all levels, while reminding them of their promises to the people.

According to him, praying for the country is vital, but leaders must also deliver results.

The Speaker further emphasized the need for unity and joint efforts to improve living standards in the country, noting that health, education, agriculture, security, and infrastructure must remain top priorities.

He prayed for Nigeria to overcome its challenges and for leaders to deliver more than what citizens expect.
