Rivers United technical adviser, Finidi George has expressed satisfaction with his team’s victory over Niger Tornadoes.
The Pride of Rivers defeated Niger Tornadoes 1-0 in a Nigeria Premier Football League League, NPFL, matchday five rescheduled fixture at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt on Wednesday.
Maclyn Biokpo scored the decisive goal in the 50th minute.
Finidi admitted that the encounter was difficult.
“Niger Tornadoes are a very physical side, they gave us a tough run but we are happy we got the three points,” Finidi stated in a post-match interview.
“I must command my players for their discipline throughout the encounter.”
Rivers United moved up to third position on the league table with 11 points from six matches.
They will lock horns with Enyimba in their next league on Sunday.
