Police officer abducted in Kwara community

Armed bandits have reportedly kidnapped a Nigeria police officer, Mr. Ezra, who is attached to the Lade Division in Patigi Local Government Area.

The officer was reportedly abducted early Thursday morning while returning from official duty at Patigi General Hospital to his base in Lade.

DAILY POST reports that Patigi-Lade road, has gained notoriety in recent times for frequent criminal attacks.

The abduction has heightened concerns over growing insecurity in Patigi and its environs, with renewed calls for stronger security measures to protect lives and property.

The spokesperson of the state police command, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, in a chat with DAILY POST in Ilorin on Thursday, confirmed the development.

She said the motorcycle of the abducted officer was found along the road after he was abducted while returning from official duty to Lade, his residential base.

The spokesperson said efforts are ongoing to rescue the officer from captivity and apprehend the criminals.
