The versatile midfielder equaled Shola Ameobi’s record of 298 matches.

The 28-year-old is now the race for the all-time appearance record.

Iwobi, who started his Premier League sojourn with Arsenal has also played for Everton.

Behind Iwobi, and Ameobi in the all-time Nigeria Premier League appearances list are, Nwankwo Kanu (273), Yakubu Aiyegbeni (252), and John Mikel Obi (249).
