2026 WCQ: FIFA appoints Chadian referee Mahamat for Crocodiles vs Super Eagles

FIFA has picked Chadian official Alhadi Allaou Mahamat as centre referee for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matchday nine encounter between Lesotho and Super Eagles of Nigeria.

DAILY POST recalls, Mahamat was also in charge of Super Eagles ‘ 1-0 win over Rwanda in Uyo on 6 September (matchday 7).

The arbiter will work with his compatriots Bogola Issa (assistant 1), Moussa Hafiz (assistant 2) and Abdelkerim Ousmane (fourth official).

Kenyan official Alice Damaris Kimani will serve as referee assessor, while William Makinati Shongwe from eSwatini will be in the role of commissioner.

The Crocodiles will host the Super Eagles at the New Peter Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, South Africa next week Friday.

The game will kick at 5pm Nigerian time.
