Kwara governor declares Monday work free day for teachers

Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has approved Monday, October 6, 2025, as a public holiday for teachers in the state to mark the World Teachers’ Day.

Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr Lawal Olohungbebe, who delivered the governor’s message paid glowing tribute to teachers’ resilience, sacrifice and devotion.

He described them as critical stakeholders in advancing human progress and national development.

“Our teachers embody patience, sacrifice and resilience. They nurture minds, shape futures and drive society’s growth.

“Today, Kwara salutes their labour of love, for without teachers, no profession exists,” the commissioner declared in a statement released in Ilorin on Saturday.
