The political family of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike in Rivers State is fully united and has resolved its differences with Governor Sim Fubara, Wike’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka has said.
This was evident in a meeting between Wike, Fubara, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Martins Amaewhule, the Chairman of the Rivers State Elders Council, Ferdinand Alabraba, and others.
DAILY POST learnt that the meeting, which was held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State Capital yesterday, was the first between Wike’s political family and Fubara since the emergency rule was lifted.
Six months ago, President Bola Tinubu had declared an emergency rule in Rivers State while suspending Fubara for six months to prevent further escalation of the political tension between Wike and Fubara in the state.
While appointing a Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd), Tinubu also suspended the deputy governor, and the entire state House of Assembly for the six months duration.
Last month, the president lifted the suspension while reinstating Fubara and the state Assembly.
The meeting was disclosed to DAILY POST by Olayinka on Sunday morning.
He said: “The Political Family is fully united.”
He added: “FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, Chairman of the Rivers State Elders Council, Chief Ferdinand Alabraba, Speaker of Rivers State House of Assembly, Martins Amaewhule and other leaders in a meeting in Port Harcourt yesterday.
“It was the first meeting of all the political leaders on Wike’s side with Fubara.”
