Kwara United have sacked their head coach, Tunde Sanni, after the team suffered a 1–0 home defeat to Abia Warriors in Sunday’s Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 7 game.
The decision followed the club’s recent poor performance including their early exit from the CAF Confederation Cup, where they lost 5–3 on aggregate to Asante Kotoko of Ghana.
In the meantime, assistant coach Ashifat Suleiman has been directed to take charge of the team until a new head coach is appointed.
