Two England youth internationals of Nigerian descent, Chizaram Ezenwata and Tyrique George, are among eight contenders for Chelsea’s Goal of the Month award.
Chelsea on Monday announced their Goal of the Month nominees for September 2025, with Ezenwata and George among the contenders.
Ezenwata earned his nomination for his goal during Chelsea’s U18 Premier League victory over Brighton at Cobham Training Ground on September 20.
The 17-year-old attacker converted from the penalty spot with a cheeky Panenka, doubling his team’s lead in the 80th minute.
As for George, he earned his nomination for his outstanding strike in the Carabao Cup third round tie against Lincoln City.
The winger pounced on a loose ball and unleashed a thunderous 20-yard shot that went into the back of the net.
Other players nominated for the award include Cole Palmer, Moises Caicedo, Harrison Murray-Campbell, Kobe Barbour, Ryan Kavuma-McQueen and Facundo Buonanotte.
