Bandits have abducted Mallam Sadis Isa, the Chairman of the Council of Scholars in Gummi Local Government Area of Zamfara State, along with several other passengers.
The incident reportedly happened on Tuesday evening along the Gusau–Gummi highway when the attackers blocked the road, stopped vehicles, and took away an unspecified number of travellers.
According to a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) by security analyst Bakatsine on Wednesday, the bandits intercepted vehicles on the route and whisked away the victims, including the Islamic scholar.
“Yesterday evening, bandits blocked the Gusau–Gummi road in Zamfara State, stopping vehicles and abducting several passengers including Malam Sadis Isa, Chairman of the Council of Scholars, Gummi LGA,” he wrote.
As of the time of filing this report, neither the police nor the Zamfara State Government has released an official statement regarding the incident.
