Actor Femi Branch Stopped from Leaving Set After Alleged Assault on Crew Member

A video making the rounds online has captured Nollywood actor Femi Branch reportedly being stopped from leaving a movie set after allegedly slapping a crew member during a heated dispute.

According to reports, the incident occurred on Day 8 of a 9-day film shoot, sometime between 3:30 PM and 4:30 PM. The cast and crew were preparing to wrap up at one location before moving to their final destination. Tensions flared during a camera setup involving two units. While the Assistant Director (AD) and Director of Photography (DP) were still adjusting the second camera, the Director began rolling on the first camera without informing essential crew members.

The victim explained, “I was hitting the door for them to open because the DP wanted to go out and confirm the frame. When Femi Branch shouted that they were filming, I asked what they were filming when the DP and 1st AD were still inside.”

The situation quickly escalated from a verbal exchange to a physical confrontation. Femi Branch allegedly insulted the AD, saying his “head is incorrect.” When the AD stood his ground and reminded him of his authority to halt filming, the actor reportedly became enraged.

“He flared up, asking who I was to talk back at him,” the victim recalled. “As he came inside shouting at me, I told him he couldn’t intimidate me, and that was when he hit me.”

The altercation reportedly left the crew shocked. After completing the shoot at the current location, the production team moved to Lekki Conservation Centre for the final leg, but filming was abruptly halted. In an unusual display of unity, the crew refused to continue unless Branch offered a formal apology.

“When he arrived at the new location and was asked to apologize, he refused and tried to leave,” the AD claimed. “The crew locked the gate to stop him from leaving.”

As of now, no official statement has been issued by Femi Branch or the production team regarding the incident.
