Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has revealed he asked his squad to vote for a new captain this week.
According to him, all the players unanimously picked the current skipper, Martin Odegaard, to continue in the role.
This comes in a week where former Arsenal captain, Tony Adams, asked Arteta to take the armband away from Odegaard.
Adams claimed Declan Rice would make a better captain for the current squad.
But Arteta told reporters today: “My opinion is clear, and it is the same as all the staff and the players.
“I asked them to vote [for] the captain yesterday and by a mile, by a mile, they all chose the same person, Martin Odegaard.
“Which is the most clear sign you can have of how the squad feel we can improve.”
