Kidnappers storm Ondo community, kill man, 34, abduct businesswoman

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have killed a 34-year-old man and abducted a businesswoman in Ayede Ogbese, Akure North Local Council Area of Ondo State.

The middle-aged man, Okudili Okoro was killed when the 10 armed men stormed the community to kidnap a popular provision seller in the community, Mrs Orogun.

According to sources, the attack occurred around 8:30 p.m on Thursday, with the gunmen, who arrived in two unregistered vehicles, a silver-coloured EOD car and a grey Toyota Camry shot sporadically to scare residents.

One of the sources stated that after the gunmen shot Okoro, they abducted the business woman and zoomed off from the community in different directions.

She said: “We informed the police who swung into action immediately and assured that the suspect would be apprehended. The kidnappers have yet to make contact for negotiation or demand for ransom since yesterday (Thursday)

While confirming the incident, the police image maker in the state, Olayinka Ayanlade, disclosed that manhunt has begun to apprehend the suspects and rescue the victim.
