
A former member of the House of Representatives, Hon Abiodun Dada Awoleye, has expressed satisfaction over what he described as a high turnout of voters in his ward in the ongoing bye-election in Ibadan North Federal Constituency.
Our correspondent reports that Awoleye represented the federal constituency between 2011 and 2019.
Awoleye voted in Unit 24, Ward 04.
The former lawmaker, while speaking, expressed satisfaction over the turnout of the voters in the unit and other units in his ward.
Awoleye, who is also the Chairman of the Oyo State Primary Healthcare Board, said that despite some hitches in some units, the election has been smooth.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, while addressing journalists, noted that there was no report of violence or snatching of ballot boxes in any of the units.
He said, “My observation is that the whole exercise is rancor-free. No reports of violence. This is my ward.
“Except in some few places where the BVAS malfunctioned, and they have been taken care of.
“The voters have been coming, it is encouraging. No violence. Turnout of voters in this ward is impressive.
“So far, in all our units, the election has been peaceful and going smoothly.”
