Benue: Ogbadibo LG Chair declares curfew in Orokam over rising insecurity

The Executive Chairman of Ogbadibo Local Government Area, Hon. Sunday Ameh Ajunwa, has declared a dusk-to-dawn curfew in and around Orokam community following a surge in kidnappings and violent attacks that have claimed lives in recent weeks.

In an official statement issued on Saturday, August 16, the council boss announced that the restriction of movement will take effect from Sunday, August 17, 2025, between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. daily until further notice.

According to Ajunwa, the measure is aimed at curtailing criminal activities, limiting unnecessary movement at night, and enabling security agencies to intensify patrols and respond swiftly to emergencies.

He urged residents to comply fully with the directive and cooperate with security operatives to safeguard lives and property in the area.
