Operatives of Rapid Response Squad of Delta State Police Command on stop and search duty along DBS road, Asaba, have arrested a 39-year old suspected armed robber, Bassey Udoh.
The suspect was arrested on 16/8/2025 at about 0511hrs, DAILY POST can report.
The Police also recovered an English Beretta pistol from the suspect.
Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the report in a statement sent in Warri.
The Police image maker said,”On 16/8/2025 at about 0511hrs, Operatives of Rapid Response Squad of Delta State Command, while on Stop and Search along DBS Road, Asaba, stopped one Bassey Udoh, aged 39years (m) of Custom Market, Asaba, carrying a cross bag.”
According to SP Edafe,”Suspect, on sighting the Police, became uncomfortable, and this prompted the Police men to search him on the spot.
“Upon the search of the suspect, an English Beretta pistol was recovered.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect is part of a syndicate that usually breaks into people’s homes and cart away their properties, and he bought the gun for the sum of thirty thousand naira (#30,000).”
He said,”Suspect is in custody, and the investigation is ongoing.”
