Lagos Judiciary rolls out programme for 2025/2026 Legal Year

The Lagos State Judiciary has unveiled the programme of events to mark the commencement of the 2025/2026 Legal Year, under the leadership of the Chief Judge of Lagos State, Justice Kareem Olanrewaju Alogba.

In an official statement, the Judiciary disclosed that the ceremonies will begin on Monday, September 22, 2025, with interfaith thanksgiving services. The services will hold simultaneously at 10:00 a.m. at the Central Mosque, Nnamdi Azikiwe Street, and the Cathedral Church of Christ, Marina.

According to the statement, the thanksgiving is aimed at offering gratitude and seeking divine guidance for the judiciary as it embarks on a new legal year dedicated to upholding justice and fulfilling its constitutional mandate.

The Judiciary also announced that the 2025/2026 Legal Year Summit is scheduled for Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at The Shell Zenith Bank Hall, MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos, starting at 10:00 a.m.

The summit will bring together judges, lawyers, policymakers, and other stakeholders to deliberate on contemporary challenges and opportunities within the administration of justice.

Reaffirming its commitment to deepening the rule of law and strengthening access to justice, the Lagos State Judiciary described the annual legal year celebration as a testament to its resolve to position Lagos as a benchmark of judicial excellence in Nigeria.

The Judiciary encouraged legal professionals, invited guests, and members of the public to actively participate in the forthcoming activities.
