Accident claims seven lives, injures others on Damaturu-Maidiguri highway

A crash on the Damaturu-Maidiguri highwah in Yobe State has claimed seven people, while several others sustained various degrees of injuries.

The accident, which involved a Toyota Sienna bus and a Toyota Corolla occurred at Warsala village in Potiskum local government area, Yobe State.

It was attributed to overspeeding by both vehicles.

The remains of the deceased and the injured were conveyed to the Yobe State University Teaching Hospital in Damaturu for urgent care.

The Information Officer of YEMABUS, Ibrahim Waziri, confirmed, “the crash claimed seven lives, four adults and three children, while several others were left injured.”

He explained that their prompt arrival and professional care undoubtedly saved lives, saying that YEMABUS exists to ensure emergency help reaches victims without delay.
