
The Adamawa State Police Command has welcomed AIG Taiwo O. Adeleke, the senior officer in charge of election monitoring, as the state prepares for the Ganye State Constituency by-election this Saturday, August 16, 2025.
In a statement, Police spokesperson SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje said the AIG arrived with CP Moses Ottah and ACP Husseini Yelwa to meet with officers and review plans to ensure the polls are peaceful and without trouble.
Addressing the officers, AIG Adeleke urged them to remain professional, impartial, and civil when dealing with members of the public.
He reminded them that it is the police’s constitutional duty to keep everyone safe before, during, and after the election.
CP Dankombo Morris, who received the AIG, stressed the Command’s readiness.
He said officers will be adequately deployed and that proactive measures already in place to protect voters, election workers, and ballot materials.
The Police Command assured the people of Adamawa that it is fully committed to safeguarding lives and property, and encouraged residents to obey the law, cooperate with security personnel, and promptly report any suspicious activity.
