Nigerian midfielder, Alex Iwobi, has confirmed that Fulham has banned players from sharing behind-the-scenes content on Snapchat and other social media platforms.
Alex Iwobi revealed the restriction in a video posted on his official Snapchat account on Wednesday. He explained that the club’s media department had intervened, ending his regular posts from inside the team’s changing room.
“For those wondering why I’ve been snapping BTS in the changing room, there’s one person in the media team who’s been saying I haven’t been capturing the right stuff. So there’s no more BTS,” he said.
The 28-year-old added that the club had warned of possible financial penalties for violating the new rule.
“They also said I might get fined if I continue to do so,” he said. “They’re trying to ban Snapchat in our changing room.”
Alex Iwobi, who has built a strong following on social media for his casual content, expressed disappointment at the decision.
“It’s a shame, man. I know you guys enjoy seeing what my teammates are like behind the scenes, but I have to respect the rules,” he added.
The midfielder’s posts often featured pre-match preparations, dressing room interactions, and moments of camaraderie among teammates, offering fans a rare glimpse into the players’ off-pitch lives.
Fulham’s new policy reflects a growing trend among Premier League clubs to tighten control over what is shared from private team areas.
The ban is believed to be aimed at protecting sensitive tactical discussions, preserving team privacy, and avoiding potential media misinterpretations.
