CHAN: South Africa, Nigeria among 9 countries eliminated from competition [Full list]

South Africa are now among nine countries eliminated from the ongoing CAF African Nations Championship, CHAN.

DAILY POST reports that South Africa, alongside Mauritania, Guinea, Angola, the Central African Republic, Zambia, Nigeria, Niger Republic and Burkina Faso, are out of CHAN.

This follows South Africa’s 3-3 draw against Uganda in their final Group C fixture played on Monday.

The result means Uganda finished top of Group C with seven points from four games, followed by Algeria with six points from the same number of matches.

South Africa are in third place with six points but an inferior goal difference compared to Algeria, while Guinea and Niger occupy fourth and fifth positions with four points and two points, respectively, after four matches.

Meanwhile, more group-stage matches will take place on Tuesday.

Nigeria will face Congo, while Sudan will tackle Senegal.
