Activist, Aisha Yesufu, has tackled the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi following his face-off with Arise Television’s anchor, Rufai Oseni, over the cost of some sections of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway.
Yesufu said Umahi thinks he’s still in Ebonyi State where he is a local champion.
The face-off started during a live interview on Arise Television when Rufai accused Umahi of reporting him to President Bola Tinubu for asking about the cost per kilometer of the coastal highway.
Angered by the comment, Umahi said Rufai was too small to be reported to the President.
In the heated argument that ensued, Rufai told the minister to shut up, saying he has empirical facts about the project.
Umahi, who will not allow Rufai’s comment to slide, said the anchor was exhibiting ignorance by asking unnecessary questions.
Reacting to the incident in a post on X, Yesufu wrote: “There is average cost. He didn’t have to give a specific figure.
“Since it is understandable that some kilometers may cost more than others but he could have given an approximate figure.
“Of course Dave Umahi still thinks he is in Ebonyi State where he was local champion.”
