The funds were reportedly allocated for the construction of 22 Smart Green Schools across the state. Ogundele has since been declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on allegations of money laundering and misappropriation of public funds.
Reacting to a video where Ogundele denied any wrongdoing and dismissed the allegations as baseless, the Enugu government described his remarks as nothing but “crocodile tears.”
> “We will recover every kobo of Enugu people’s money. The state cannot be shortchanged,” a government official stated, stressing that accountability and transparency would not be compromised.
