This comes after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) declared Ogundele wanted on Friday over alleged money laundering and diversion of funds. In response, Ogundele released a video denying any wrongdoing and claiming the controversy was tied to his contract with Enugu State.
However, the state government countered his claims. In a statement on Friday, Commissioner for Information and Communication, Malachy Agbo, confirmed that the contract, worth ₦11.45 billion, was awarded to Sujimoto on July 2, 2024, with funds disbursed for execution.
Photos released by the government allegedly show abandoned project sites, reinforcing the claim that the developer failed to deliver on the agreement.
