EPL table: Arsenal now top after Chelsea beat Liverpool

Arsenal will go into the October international break top of the Premier League after Chelsea stunned Liverpool 2-1 on Saturday evening.

The Gunners made light work of West Ham, winning 2-0 at the Emirates earlier in the day.

Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka scored in either half as Mikel Arteta’s men continued their fine start to the new season.

The result takes them to 16 points, one more than Liverpool, who lost at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea took the lead in the first half after Moises Caicedo unleashed a fierce drive from distance.

The champions levelled after the break, with Alexander Isak setting up Cody Gakpo to fire past Robert Sánchez.

Willian Estevão came off the bench to score the winner for Enzo Maresca’s team.
