Operations at SUMTV have been temporarily halted following a fire outbreak that occurred late Wednesday evening at the station’s premises in Jalingo, Taraba State.
The outbreak, which occurred last night, as noticed by Daily Post, has presently brought transmission activities at the station to a standstill.
In an official statement issued on Thursday in Jalingo, the Chief Executive Officer, Olayinka Gabriel Motunrayo, confirmed that emergency responders, including the fire department and other relevant agencies, were promptly called in to contain the situation.
The management disclosed that CCTV footage from the facility is currently under review in an effort to determine the cause of the fire.
“We urge the public to refrain from speculations pending the outcome of our investigation,” Motunrayo said.
As a result of the incident, SUMTV has also announced a 48-hour suspension of all broadcast activities. Further updates are expected as investigations continue.
As at the time of filing this report, the circumstances surrounding the outbreak have not been ascertained.
