
Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has named the three toughest players he ever played against during his career as a professional footballer.
Gerrard spent most of his career playing for Liverpool from 1998 to 2015 before leaving Anfield to join LA Galaxy for one season.
The Englishman retired from professional football in 2016 and started his managerial career.
Gerrard has so far coached clubs like Aston Villa, Rangers, and Al-Ettifaq.
Speaking during a quickfire round of questions with ESPN, Gerrard was asked to name the toughest opponent he ever faced.
The 45-year-old simply said: “Claude Makelele, Roy Keane, and Patrick Vieira.”
Gerrard faced Makelele, Keane, and Vieira during Liverpool matches against Chelsea, Manchester United, and Arsenal, respectively.
