Headline: PDP re-elects Bello-Suru as Kebbi chairman, 38 new others

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kebbi State has returned Alhaji Usman Bello-Suru as its Chairman, alongside 38 other executives, to lead the party for another four years.

Announcing the results, the Chairman of the State Delegates’ Congress, Dr. Mukhtar Lugga, said the election was “transparent, credible and fair.”

He explained that delegates from all 21 local government areas of the state participated, with officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and party stakeholders present.

Dr. Lugga praised the delegates for their “patience, orderliness and commitment” throughout the exercise.

In his acceptance speech, Alhaji Bello-Suru thanked members for their confidence in him and promised to reconcile aggrieved members while strengthening the party both in Kebbi and nationally.

“We will follow the roadmap to strengthen the party structures and build a robust grassroots network. You can now testify by the caliber of people elected today,” he said.

He further pledged that PDP in Kebbi would be revitalized and more effective: “We will work tirelessly to reclaim power, Insha Allahu, and serve the good people of Kebbi State with honesty and integrity.”

Also speaking, the party’s 2023 governorship candidate, Aminu Bande, congratulated the newly elected executives and urged them to promote unity within the party.

Among the re-elected executives are Hussaini Abdullahi-Raha as Deputy Chairman and Abubakar Bawa-Kalgo as Secretary.
