The victim, an interior decorator and recent NYSC graduate, was attacked at her residence by the suspect, identified as Lintex Ogale, who reportedly refused to accept their breakup in August 2023.
According to the victim’s sister, Ogale had repeatedly threatened her, vowing that “if he could not marry her, no one else would.”
The Attack
On the night of the incident, Ogale allegedly disguised himself as a dispatch rider in order to gain access to the estate. When refused entry, he scaled the fence, cut the victim’s gas pipe in what appeared to be an attempt to trigger an explosion, and then forced his way into her home.
Witnesses said he launched a frenzied attack with a knife, stabbing her multiple times until she collapsed.
Ogale reportedly attempted to harm himself afterwards but was overpowered by neighbours and restrained until police arrived.
Family and Police Reaction
The victim’s family described her as a hardworking and promising young woman whose life was cut short by “a relationship by force.”
