Speaking on the AFRIMMA Podcast, Vast described the period as the toughest in his life, revealing that it was not the cancer itself but the treatment that almost claimed his life.

> “Cancer is not the problem, it’s the treatment. The process is deadly. They started with my spine and I don’t even know what they did to it. I nearly passed from the treatment,” he recalled.

The artiste revealed that at some point, he lost so much blood that it affected his heart, forcing him to undergo transfusions. “I was very skinny, you could see my ribs. It also made us spend a lot of money,” he added.

Vast credited his survival to the unwavering support of his team, who pooled resources to fund his medical care.

The diagnosis was delayed for months until a nurse suggested an ultrasound, which revealed a growth later confirmed to be cancerous in the UK. His music partner, Smash, recounted how doctors in Nigeria initially struggled to identify the illness despite sending blood samples abroad.
