Ibom Air: ‘I was placed on drip inside office’ – NCAA official

The spokesman of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, Michael Achimugu, has claimed that he was placed on a drip inside his office last week while attending to aggrieved passengers’ complaints.
He made this known in a statement on his X account on Tuesday.

Achimugu explained that the NCAA is committed towards protecting the rights of airline passengers.

“Last week, I was placed on a drip INSIDE MY OFFICE. Drip in my left hand, work with my right hand. My colleagues could not believe it,” he said on X.

This comes amid backlash over Ibom Air Passenger Comfort Emmanson Comfort and Fuji Musician Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 de Ultimate (KWAM1), airport incidents.

Recall that Emmanson was remanded in prison and given a lifetime ban over alleged unruly behaviour with an Ibom Air official.

The development had drawn mixed reactions from Nigerians. On Tuesday the Nigerian Bar Association offered to give the Ibom Air passenger pro bono legal service, condemning her detention, and inhuman treatment meted out to her by Lagos Airport officials.

Many Nigerians have questioned why KWAM1, who allegedly obstructed ValueJet Airline, was not remanded in prison, a treatment meted out to Emmanson.

However, on Tuesday the Nigeria Police Force issued a statement announcing that it had commenced a probe of the musician.

Earlier, the NCAA spokesperson explained that Emmanson and KWAM1 airport incidents were different.
