Independence Day: Nation building requires patience, collective effort – NYC

The Nigerian Youth Congress, NYC, has called on governments at all levels to adopt inclusive policies that address unemployment, underemployment, and youth empowerment.

Speaking in Abuja during activities marking Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary, the President of the Congress, Engr. Jethro Annum, said the country’s diversity should be harnessed as a source of strength to promote equity and social justice.

He acknowledged some youth-focused initiatives under the Federal Government’s “Renewed Hope Agenda” but stressed the need for deeper collaboration with credible youth organizations to ensure policies translate into practical results.

The NYC also urged young Nigerians to remain committed to nation-building, set aside ethnic and religious differences, and contribute to efforts aimed at strengthening national unity.
