INEC declares PDP candidate winner of Ibadan North bye-election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Folajimi Oyekunle, as the winner of yesterday’s bye-election in Ibadan North Federal Constituency.

The final result was announced it the early hours of Sunday.

The election was conducted yesterday in all the twelve electoral wards that make up the federal constituency.

The election result was announced at the premises of Ikolaba High School Agodi Ibadan, the collation centre of the federal constituency.

The Returning Officer, Professor Abiodun Oluwadare of the University of Ibadan, announced the result of the election on behalf of INEC.

Oyekunle secured a total of 18,404 votes to emerge as the winner of the election.

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Adewale Olatunji, secured a total of of 8,312 votes.
