Let’s reject division, embrace unity – Gov Adeleke urges Osun citizens

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has called on citizens of the state to reject division and embrace unity in everything they do.

Adeleke made this appeal on Wednesday on the occasion of the state’s 34 years anniversary.

DAILY POST reports that Osun State was created on August 26, 1991.

Adeleke, who commended the courage of the founding fathers of the state, stated that they fought tirelessly, not for themselves, but for the future generation yet unborn, adding that their labour would not be in vain.

He said that in the past 34 years, the state has made significant strides and nurtured talents that have excelled in education, culture, sports, innovation, and enterprise.

“On this day in 1991, our founding fathers and mothers, through courage, vision, and unwavering determination, achieved an age-long dream and aspiration of having a state we can call our own.

“Today, we remember and honour those who championed the creation of Osun State. Their sacrifices remain the foundation upon which we stand today.

“Since our creation, we have faced both triumphs and challenges. Our state has grown in leaps and bounds. We have every reason to be proud of our achievements.

“Let us reject division, embrace unity, uphold values, and always place Osun first. Together, we can overcome our challenges and make Osun a model of excellence and progress,” he said.
