Mob apprehend suspected phone thief in Delta 

Residents of Ejewhor Street in Okumagba Layout, Warri, Delta State have apprehended a suspected thief, Precious Ibekwe.

The suspect was given the beating of his life by the residents.

They accused him of being part of a group that stole the mobile phone of an individual.

Found in the possession of the suspect were a palm slippers, a big spanner, DVD player, measuring tape, hammer and others.

The suspect, who gave his name as Precious Ibekwe, in chat with our correspondent denied the allegations leveled against him, insisting that he is innocent.

According to him, he only picked the palm slippers of a suspect who stole the mobile phone as he was being chased.

He explained that by the time he picked the slippers, he never knew the suspect had stolen anything in the area until he was accosted by residents who saw him with the slippers.

Precious said he knows the hiding place where to find the suspected thief but that he does not know his house.
